Solvent Vinyl Inkjet

Q: Before installing Hilord Solvent Vinyl Inks what do I have to do?
A: The printer needs to be cleaned thoroughly. Refer to "Installing Hilord Vinyl inks" Procedure.

Q: Do I have to use both Flush and Analog to clean the printer prior to Hilord Vinyl ink installation?
A: Yes, you have to use both if the printer contains a competitor's inks. If this is a new installation (ie: no inks in the printer), only Hilord Analog is necessary.

Q: There are little dots on the image that weren't there with the other ink.
A1: These are known as fisheyes. Increase the heat settings on the machine.
A2: Check the humidity of the room. It should be between 45 and 55 in Hg.
A3: Check for dust particles on the surface of the vinyl.
A4: Try another roll of same type vinyl. The vinyl itself may have been exposed to high humidity.

Q: The damper empties itself over night.
A: The carriage is sitting too tightly on the capping station. Adjust the carriage position to the left.

Q: The image looks grainy after I installed the Hilord Inks.
A: This usually happens when the tubing lines aren't properly emptied after the Hilord Flush process. Drain the tubing lines completely, and then reinstall the Hilord Inks. It is recommended that you change the dampers as well.

Q: After I installed the Hilord Inks, I see lines in the image.
A: After the installation, you must perform a print adjust and a media compensation. This is known as an electronic alignment to suit the new inks.
