State-of-the-Art Laboratory
At Hilord Chemical Corporation's Quality and R & D laboratories, the
goal is to ensure quality and reliability of results by adhering to stringently
controlled procedures, processes and standard methods that can be traced to
internationally accepted quality standards and reference materials. Our experienced
and highly qualified staff of laboratory scientists, and state-of-the-art equipment
enables us to perform organic and inorganic tests on a wide variety of materials and products for their physical and chemical characteristics, as well as their properties. The staff's expertise in the characterization
of polymers and polymer blends, surface chemistry and colorant chemistry gives
Hilord a distinct competitive advantage in its ability to deliver the best
ink and ink related products to the graphics arts industry.
Hilord's laboratory performs routine testing and analysis of experimental
and production samples. All raw materials are scanned for trace levels of
any contaminant that are known at Hilord to be detrimental to the quality
of the final product. The dedicated group of test scientists that perform
these tests have many years of experience using such instruments as High Pressure
Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Inductively Coupled
Plasma (ICP), Dynamic Surface Tension (DST), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Infrared Spectrometer (IRS) and Differential
Scanning Calorimeter (DSC).
The lab is also equipped with temperature and humidity controlled chambers
to enable testing of materials and samples for physical and chemical stability
under different conditions.
Hilord's laboratory is also capable of performing custom chemical analysis
and synthesis for a wide selection of chemistry in cases where a specialized
project requires that a new method of analytical testing be developed in order
to successfully formulate a product. It has a chemical development group with
expertise in evaluating and improving known processes and chemical reactions
that will lead to economically viable synthetic route. Hilord's Chemical Development
Team approach the Advance Research Group to start a project. The Quality Assurance
Group then begins the testing of all research materials to be used in the
project and, if necessary, develops new testing procedures to ensure quality
products.
To maintain the quality of our work and service, we maintain a partnership
with various educational and government funded laboratories and research undertakings.
The result is an unlimited and collective source of technology and information
that is available to Hilord scientists at the click of a button.
